Fishing

Heriberto and the Visitor's Center: So this past week, we had a lesson with Heriberto on Thursday. The plan was to pick him up and go to the visitor's center with one of the branch missionaries for the Spanish branch. So we get to the VC, about 10 minutes late, and they gave the theater over to someone else. So we sat in the Witnesses of Christ room and watched an old conference talk in Spanish and discussed it. Then on Saturday we tried for the second time. With the Salazar's, we drove to the VC again, and we were able to watch the videos. the videos were "Days of Harmony" and "Day for the Eternities". They teach about the translation about the Book of Mormon, and the coolest thing that I hadn't noticed before was about what Joseph and Oliver did at one point. They had to get out of Harmony, and they felt impressed to write a letter to the Whitmer family and ask to stay at their home to finish the translation. It might've offended them, and it was probably scary, but they still did it and the Lord prepared a way for His work to be completed. It was great for Heriberto too, the major things that stood out to him was the faith in Christ that these people had.

Cooking at the High Priests Group Party: So a few weeks ago, we were asked by a high priest group leader in one of our English wards to help cook at a group party, and it was pretty great. We got to deep fry chicken nuggets and french fries, and then had dinner there. It was pretty great to get to know a good number of the families of the ward, and to build those relationships. Before we went out to finish proselyting before the end of the night, they had us participate in putting rubber bands around a watermelon, which was pretty fun and suspenseful (surprisingly). It was a youth, two members of the ward, and Elder Chojnacki who were putting on the rubber bands, and I was the one filming with Elder Chojnacki's camera. And I was the only one that got hit with some of the splatter form the explosion (video below).

Fishing: We went fishing this morning and we were able to go out to some beautiful spots in the area. We didn't catch any fish, but it was a lot of fun. That is one of the things most complimented about Idaho, the fishing, hunting, hiking, etc spots. We saw 2 eagles, and just had a peaceful time in the wild.

The Area is going pretty well. I have been learning quite a bit over the past couple of weeks about the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and about myself. I am now starting to realize that I will never stop learning for the rest of my life, I will never stop growing, and the thing I need to do is grow in the right direction, with my Faith in Jesus Christ. Elder Chojnacki and I are getting along really well, and we have some exciting things happening in the next few weeks. On the 9th, we have a member of the quorum of the twelve and one of the seven presidents of the seventy meeting with us as missionaries for 2 hours. It is going to be amazing to learn from them, and then to apply it all.

Thank you for all of your prayers and emails, as always.
Have a wonderful week!
Love,
Elder Baker
