This week has been pretty weird but good nevertheless.
Here is what happened.
Tiesssss: Last P-day was tie making day. We started off with all going to Walmart and picking out yard of fabric to make our custom made ties. ill send a complete picture a little later of the final product, buttttt it looks good. When then went to a church building and made the ties. The member that was nice enough to show us how to do it was amazing. She brought a showing machine and pretty much let us do it all ourselves, just showing us what to do at first. It was pretty cool and now i know how to make many a tie in the future.
Service: This week was a lot of Service, and since snow hasn't fallen yet but the fall just finished up with leaves, we were doing a lot of raking. First we helped out a widow in one of the wards. We borrowed some of the neighbors tools and went to work. turns out she had a lot more leaves than we thought because after raking for 2 hours, we had to go to dinner and we hadn't finished raking all of it and got close to none of them in Bags. Then on Saturday we helped out about three different people with leaves in their yard. With all of that, its fun to do service on the mission. Its relaxing and helps you serve active members in different ways. Hope everyone back home in Georgia is having a fun time raking leaves right about now. The weather is the same as here in Rexburg strangely enough. It hasn't gotten below 40 in the main hours of the day very often and there isn't any snow yet, so no shoveling yet either.
Baptism: We are having a baptism this week. Talked about her before but Peighton, is getting baptized this Saturday. She has progressed so well and so rapidly its amazing. This will be exciting to see and just how happy it has made her leading up to this point and how happy she will be after she is completely cleansed from her sins. So that's awesome.
Maybe not as much happened to write about, but here is some stuff in honor of International Bible Day!
Personal Study: One of the main things i've studied and enjoyed the past week was Jesus the Christ, more specifically the Passion Week. Even though it isnt near easter, its right before the main Christmas season starts and knowing the end has helped me and can help anyone know more about the beginning.
The main point that i am going to point out from the Passion Week is the night of the Betrayal and the Choice that Christ made to die. When the multitude first came with Judas to take him away, he was instantly submissive and ready to be taken, even when (with all of the miracles all knew he could do) he could bring down destruction on those trying to take him.
After this when he was taken to the Palace of Caiaphas, at an illegal meeting of the Sanhedrin and the trying of Jesus. Extensive amounts of False Witnesses were brought before Judges, and none of them corroborated with each other, making it impossible to try Jesus or sentence him for anything. Then Caiaphas, illegally "adjured" him the question.
Because Jesus responded as such, giving claim that he was the son of God, the priests sentenced him for Blasphemy.
And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Jesus voluntarily chose to be sentenced and from here after, was only his choice that make him do anything, up until his death that ended with "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit"
More to study than that, but i'll leave the rest up to you.
Love you all very much,
ELDER CARSON BAKER
