Another Week, Another P-Day

So this past week was pretty good. Enjoy the email!

Sledding: So last P-day, after going shopping and everything like that, we were able to head down to St. Anthony for our P-day fun activity. A member over there had a hill, with snow, lots of snow, so we sledded. It was fun, some pictures and videos will be attached (probably). After sledding for about an hour we headed over to get some hot chocolate at a gas station. then we played a couple of cards games and headed back for dinner. Sledding was fun. Growing up in a place with only about 2 inches of snow is very different from Snow that is always on the ground for months. It was fun, and thankfully i didn't get too cold over the hour of landing in snow, later today we are having another fun activity.

Ray: So Ray, or Raymundo, is going to be baptized in Mexico. It's been a long time it feels like, from when we met him a couple of weeks ago. Since then, he has gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon and of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Turns out that he was to be baptized where his family is located, so next week during his trip back to Chihuahua (a state in Mexico), he will be baptized. We get to skype in and watch it too, which will be fun. He is hilarious and i've found out a lot more about that state of Mexico and everything fun going on there over the past couple of weeks.

Ward Mission Days: So, i don't know if I have explained this much before but this week we had some great Ward Mission Days. Instead of us planning out the whole day, of who to visit and what to do, the Ward Mission Leaders from some of our 9 wards plan out the day, who will will visit at what time, and what we do. This week had some of our best 3 Ward Mission Leaders leading it out and each day was packed. One of the days was the Spanish Ward, which was a lot of fun. Our WML, Hno. Paxman, is from California but served in Spain. Together with him we visited a ton of families and learned a lot about some of the members that have been struggling within the ward. I also learned a new Spanish ward while traveling around, which is Resbalar: to slip. It was icy and Hno. Paxman didn't have boots or anything, haha. These days help the work a lot and make sure that no one gets left behind. On Saturday, as part of the day, we visited new members in the Ward. Turns out that the Wife is a recent convert of about 3 months and hasn't been taught the new member lessons, we set a goal with them to be married in the Temple in 9 months time.

Stake Conference: Our Stake Conference was yesterday. Because of the rules as missionaries, and because no one asked us to come or speak or something like that, we only attending the General Session on Sunday Morning. There were no general authorities but the Stake Presidency is awesome here and one of our Bishops, who is a convert who was born in Mexico, shared his conversion story. It was really powerful and it was an amazing meeting, even after being finished off with a song by the Primary from one of the wards.

Studies: This past week we started our new Book of Mormon study challenge/program for the mission. We are now only reading 1 chapter a day and trying to find a principle that stuck out to us from the reading. Then we see how it applies to ourselves and the people we help in our area and use it throughout the day. one of the coolest things i found was the information about the Book of Mormon found in the introduction. The Book contains the fullness of the Gospel throughout the pages, but the Fullness of the Gospel is also taught to the Nephites during the personal ministry of the Savior. It's safe to say that this Book of Mormon reading will be awesome and help me learn once again that it is the true word of God.
The crowning event recorded in the Book of Mormon is the personal ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ among the Nephites soon after His resurrection. It puts forth the doctrines of the gospel, outlines the plan of salvation, and tells men what they must do to gain peace in this life and eternal salvation in the life to come.

Pictures:
Here you go.
ill take more next week.
1. Snow, and snow, and snow.
2. sledding party.

Hope this past week was a good one for all of you, we also had the power go out one night, but it was at 10:00, so we just slept through most of it.

Adios Muchachos,
Elder Carson Baker

Also,
Please send me emails and write stuff or ask questions. I pretty much write most in the weekly so the more you write to me, the more I have to say back to you.
