Only 3 Days

So my last pday was on Friday so this email will just cover the last three days but not much else.

Sunday: Today was another Fast Sunday, because they decided it was the week before confrence instead of the week after. Testimony meeting was awesome. Priesthood was taught by Elder Marchant and Johnson and it was all about Faith and Hope. Main parts of scripture was in Matt 14 and Alma 32-Ether 12. Something that i thought about faith was Enoch, the prophet of the old Testament and the scipture in Moses 7, where because of his faith he was able to make the earth move in order to protect Zion. The Devotional we had that day was a video of Elder Holland talking about the Divine Companionship of teh Holy Ghost. After Dinner, which was wonderful corn dogs, the movie was 2 different Videos. the first was the story of John Tanner, who is actually the great grandfather of someone in my ward (or maybe the great great grandfather), but it was a great message about the power we have as missionaries and the consecration that we need to have on our missions and in our lives. The second video was about the end of the Saviors life and it was pretty powerful. Then i took some much needed rest that night.

Monday: Today was all the same except for language study. One of our two teachers in the afternoon is name Hermano Varroteran, he is 20 years old a month or two off of his mission. He immitated and spoke in all of the different spanish accents from south america. He also did a pretty hilarious American Missionary learning spanish. I lead Book of Mormon study today and i had alll of us read in 2nd Nephi 31, all about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Then I had my travel leader meeting. I was only in charge of two other people, an american going to Utah Ogden Mission and a latino hermana Nuñez, who speaks almost no english. but on tuesday i found out that she is getting a different flight down to Argentina so i only have one other person on the flight with me. We´ll se if there are any elders or hermanas leaving provo MTC to idaho that same day, if not im going to pretty lonely, haha.

Tuesday: Today we had the last Fundamental: We Invite, They commit, we follow up. since we were all pretty good on goon invitations we talked more about teaching principles cleary, directly, and well. That night we had a devotional from a 6 month old Seventy name Elder Larreal and his wife. His Wife spoke about the two main Christlike attributes that we need to have on my mission: Obedience and Love, and ill let you think about why. Then Elder Larreal spoke. He talked a lot about sacrifice and the Power we need to be able to use on our missions. How much of my mission is focused on me? Who called me? who am i serving? Why am I serving? With how much of myself am I serving? He shared an experience of healing in his family and faith and then shared a short thing from an apostle: My name will not be forgotten, in this world or the world to come.

Everything else was pretty good. I have confrence this weekend and then am leaving monday afternoon. My next p-day will be in a week and a half most likely so send me an email then.

See you later,
Elder Baker
