Busy Week of Miracles

Hello,
This is my week, hope you enjoy. Things are picking up in speed again. We have already reached the end of another transfer and nothing is happening. I'll be here for at least another 6 weeks with Elder Wheelock as my companion.

Sister Westmoreland: Sister Westmoreland was a returning to activity member who was quiting smoking who I've been working with since I got to this area. She's been progressing really well, and this past week she moved to Challis. Crazy. This is one of the miracles this week. She was praying for a way to stop smoking and one of the big problems was her daughter and son-in-law in the same house smoked a lot. About a week ago her son-in-law's parents offered to buy the home she was living in, and so she decided to move to Challis. She is going to be living by herself, in an apartment that won't allow you to smoke inside, it is starting to become winter, and she already has a few active friends up there who are going to give her rides to church. We moved her out on Thursday and it was a whole lot of fun. It's sad to see her go, but she'll overcome smoking and make it to the temple thanks to this move.

Priesthood Blessings: This was another miracle. I was called into EIRMC to give a blessing 2 times this week, and in total participated in about 4. The Spirit was strong in each, miracles happened, and my testimony grew that the Priesthood Power of God was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Whenever you are sick or afflicted, as it says in James, call the elders of the church and you can be blessed and prayed for to be healed. It's the power of God and the spirit is always there.

Branch Mission Leader: We got a brand new Branch Mission Leader in the mesa branch and he's awesome. He understands his calling, served in Mexico when his mission was a pilot for Hastening the Work of Salvation so he understands working with Ward Councils, Bishop's, and the Presidencies. We now finally have a leader of the mission force in the branch, and with us picking up a lot of new investigators, this should be the thing to top it all off. Lots of exciting stuff will happen this next transfer.

Miracle: We had dinner with a single mom in the branch yesterday, and she had to leave for a practice, and so we ate dinner with her boyfriend of 4 months (who beforehand she told us is probably a less-active member). We started talking to him over dinner, his name is javier, and this was how the conversation went:
Are you a member?/ No, but I know a lot./ Are you religious?/ Not really./ What do you believe about God?/ Same as you do (this one threw us off)./ Have you met with missionaries?/ Nope, I've been working on the weekends for the past 10 years, but I do have a best friend who is LDS, and he's told me a lot about it./ Oh, so how much do you know?/ Well, I've read the Book of Mormon many times and know quite a lot./ What do you feel about the Book of Mormon?/ I know it's true./ And what are your plans with that knowledge?/ Well, now that I'm getting work off for the weekends, I'm going to get baptized, join the church, and then make it to the temple......
Miracle.

It's been a wonderful week, and the Church is lead by Christ. He is our Savior and Redeemer, and God is our Heavenly Father.

Love,
Elder Baker
