With all your heart brethren--believe

Hey y'all, this week was pretty good, and the spiritual power that come into the work was just amazing. Hope every has a wonderful week this week.

P-Day: Last P-day was great. We all played Chair Soccer and peppered a volleyball for a little bit before we headed out to have dinner. The exciting one is today. We found a bass and we just need to find a bow, but today I will get to play the bass. Woot woot! I'll take a video and send some pictures for next week. The Zone all came to the activity, except for one companionship of Sisters, and we all had fun, despite some of us not being in work out clothes to play the game.

George: After biking to the family history center and having some cancelled appointments, on our way back to our apartment, we stopped by George. In this past week he has broken up with his girlfriend, Lost almost all of his money and is in debt, is trying to stop smoking, and going through some other challenges. One of the things we do as a mission is read one chapter in the Book of Mormon each day, and there is a promise that something that we read will apply to us or to someone that we will teach. The chapter that I studied that morning was Alma 24, a chapter about a group of people in the Book of Mormon who's past sins and stains were washed clean because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and that they buried their weapons of war deep beneath the earth to never pick them up and commit that sin again. This spoke to him as we shared it and he knows that he has to quite smoking and keep the commandments that God has given us for him to be truly happen in this life. And the biggest thing is to bury them. After you get over something bad, do not just put it in the back of your garage or room, thinking that you are strong enough that it won't happen again, but bury it deep beneath to earth to never take it up again.

Zone Training Meeting: On Wednesday we had another Zone Training Meeting. It was abolished about 2 transfers ago, but I guess that they are bringing it back. We did some training and other things, but one of the biggest things that stood out to me was what our Zone Leader, Elder Taylor taught us. It was an excerpt from a talk entitled "Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ" By Emeritus General Authority Seventy Elder Gene R. Cook. The thing that was taught was about belief. That faith is a gift from our Heavenly Father, but belief is our personal choice. We have to choose to believe, and blessed are they that believe without being compelled or humbled by circumstances. We have to ask God for miracles and blessings, believing that we shall receive, for it to happen according to the will of God. I have a moment to really think and ponder about if some of the focuses of our work, if I believed that they were inspired and would bring blessings, and I knew by the spirit that I did. The next step after that is to work and do all that I can do, with the up most assurance that God will answer my prayers. "Will all your heart brethren--believe"

Exchanges: And on Friday I went on Exchanges with my Zone Leader, Elder Taylor. It was weird going back to stay in the apartment that I had moved out of a couple of weeks ago, but it was fun. One of the interesting things that happened was right after we left the stake center from playing basketball for exercise in the morning. One of the tires was flat (didn't have my camera on me). We replaced the tire, and later had to go to Les Schwab after personally studying in the scriptures. We had to wait about 45 minutes for the tires to get fixed and replaced, and so in the meantime, Elder Taylor and I played a game. You flip through the Book of Mormon (we also did quad a time or two) until the other person says stop. Then you pick a number 1-4, for the column. Then you have the person read one of the verses on the page, and you guess the Chapter. One of the other interesting things that happened that day was when we were walking to people. We each got a prompting to knock on a door. We knocked on one, and nobody was there, but the other person were home. He said that we could come back, and when we checked the ward list in the car, his name wasn't there. We had the spirit with us during the day as we searched for people to teach.

Fast and Testimony Sunday: Yesterday I got up to bear my testimony in one of the wards. I just felt the spirit testifying of my knowledge that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. My faith in my Savior has grown so much over the time that I have been studying in the scriptures, praying to my Heavenly Father, and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. One of the other cool things that happened that day was we were able to teach Nelson again. We haven't been able to catch him because of work these past 2 weeks. As we talked about peace that comes because of Jesus Christ, you could just see his Humility and Faith in our Savior. I invite all of you to study more about our Savior and about his final week of mortal life. He is the King of Kings, The Lord of Lords, And the Prince of Peace. #PrinceofPeace

Studies: Just a short one today. This morning I read one of the Anti-Christ chapters in the Book of Mormon, Alma 30. Korihor was going around denying Jesus Christ and the existence of God, but Alma the prophet testified of God and what 'proves' that there is a God. I know that God is my Heavenly Father and this is one of things that strengthens my testimony.
41 But, behold, I have all things as a testimony that thesethings are true; and ye also have all things as a testimonyunto you that they are true; and will ye deny them?Believest thou that these things are true?
44 But Alma said unto him: Thou hast had signs enough;will ye tempt your God? Will ye say, Show unto me a sign, when ye have the testimony of all these thy brethren, and also all the holy prophets? The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea,and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator.
